WHAT
The boats, designed as a playful public attraction, were commissioned by the Tel-Aviv city municipality. They were used in a reflection pool at one of the city's main plazas.
HOW
A prototype was built to test the boat's maneuverability and durability on site. A rotating sail design was chosen and a stabilizing fin was added to accommodate the specific pool, which is shallow. The boats were handmade out of wood, and water-resistant receiver and servo were inserted into a custom-built mast housing made of PVC. The boats were painted in different color-schemes, with each boat controller painted to match.
